Services

Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics is committed to improving the lives of allergy patients—and so offers an extensive service and support system in addition to its proven product line.

Spectrum of services
HCD's services compass the entire allergy treatment process. For diagnosis, physicians can pinpoint allergy sources quickly and accurately with the MAST Allergy Testing Service. Once testing and diagnosis are complete, HCD's innovative immunotherapy treats the root cause of allergies. And in addition, HCD offers consultation and education services to provide any audience with important information about asthma and allergic disease.

With this complete network of services and support, Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics helps physicians diagnose patients quickly and accurately—and cure them permanently—while helping to effect an educated community.

MAST Allergy Testing Service (MATS)

Dedicated laboratory
The MATS laboratory has one function only: allergy testing. Utilizing the MAST system, MATS technicians use a single blood sample to test for 36 distinct allergies at once.

Physicians simply send in a 2 ml blood sample and select one of MAST's regional allergen panels—inhalant, food, or combination. In three working days, they receive a precise, objective analysis of the patient's sensitivity to each substance; and, upon request, educational materials for the patient.

Off-site facility delivers MAST quality
MATS is the ideal choice for physicians who want to provide their patients with an accurate, less invasive allergy diagnosis when internal testing facilities are not available. With MATS' impressive turnaround, patients get results quickly and can begin a treatment program right away.

Immunotherapy

MAST immunotherapy attacks the root of the allergy, not just the symptoms—often providing a significant, permanent reduction in allergic sensitivity. Avoidance therapies can be insufficient or impossible, especially for pollen, dust, and other airborne substances; and medication can cause troublesome side effects without curing the source of the problem. Patients seeking a different course of treatment might qualify for MAST immunotherapy.

Fighting allergic disease at the source
Immunotherapy is an effective option that helps patients develop a substantial resistance to bothersome allergens. Physicians administer regular injections of allergen extracts that increase in concentration over the duration of the therapy, gradually strengthening the immune system and enabling it to fight the effects of harmful allergens.

MAST provides a complete immunotherapy package requiring no preparation or dilution. Color-coded extract vials correspond to a suggested dosage schedule; and with MAST's conservative, safe dosing regimen, no modifications are necessary for most patients. The treatment set arrives sterility-tested and ready to use.

Consultation and Education

Physicians using the testing service or immunotherapy program also receive free clinical consultation with Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics' board-certified allergists. These consultants are available to discuss test results, immunotherapy options, and any other aspect of allergic disease or patient treatment.

Emphasis on education
In addition, HCD advances education on allergies and asthma, and their related therapies, by offering a wide variety of informational seminars and materials to healthcare professionals as well as the broader community. Presentations, literature, and videos are available for numerous audiences, including primary care physicians, specialists, employers/employees, and the general public.

Hitachi Chemical Diagnostics provides:

accurate allergy testing • quick turnaround • effective immunotherapy • simple, clear instruction • ongoing consultation and support • diverse library of educational materials

...a complete network of services, giving physicians the best tools and support to help them care for their patients most successfully.
