Liquid Hot Magma
This year, DAC stood for Daredevil Aussie Commentator in the Magma booth. Professional presenter Simon
Vance became Animal Planet's "Crocodile Hunter," applying snake-baiting, gator-wrestling enthusiasm to
the untamed jungle that is chip design. In a booth sporting grass huts and a giant volcano, this fearless
adventurer grappled with perilously shrinking time-to-market windows, facing even the bloodthirsty marketing
people who demand them.
But luckily these threats were all safely enclosed in a Tam video/multimedia presentation. The program
emulated the Crocodile Hunter's trademark style: extremism and humor meshed with facts and explanations,
making it a playful, fun, and original way to learn about current design requirements and hear about the
benefits of Magma's products straight from customers. The Crocodile Hunter's accented zeal gave the
presentation unforgettable character and energy, ensuring that attendees held onto their Magma memories
long after the show. And judging from the attendees standing five deep in the aisles, the presentation
definitely hit its mark!
